What's the difference between fractional and decimal odds in ice hockey betting?

They are the same price written two ways. Fractional odds like 5/1 or 5/6 show your profit relative to your stake, while decimal odds like 6.00 or 1.83 show your total return per pound including the stake. Decimal is generally easier for newcomers, and to convert fractional to decimal you divide the fraction and add one, so 5/1 becomes 6.00.

What is the difference between the puck line and the moneyline?

The moneyline is a straight bet on the match winner with no handicap. The puck line adds ice hockey's handicap, fixed at plus or minus 1.5 goals, so a minus 1.5 favourite must win by two clear goals to cover, while a plus 1.5 underdog can lose by one and still win your bet.

What does plus 1.5 or minus 1.5 mean on an ice hockey handicap?

Minus 1.5 applies to the favourite, who must win by two or more goals for the bet to win. Plus 1.5 applies to the underdog, who covers the handicap by either winning outright or losing by exactly one goal.

Does overtime count for both moneyline and puck line bets?

Yes, overtime and the shootout count toward the moneyline and the puck line. Because the score can only rise by a single goal in extra time, a minus 1.5 favourite loses the puck line whenever a game goes beyond regulation.
